Tiny Houses have huge potential to solve the Housing Crisis, by filling in gaps in the market.
'Hope for a Home'
A group of us are self building a prototype 'Compact Home' to demonstrate the benefits of living well with less. We are working with a local Council and manufacturers to define the regulations and legislation needed for this to be classified as a permanent home. A national 'Tiny House Association' is forming as we speak.
Ordinary people can become empowered to create their own secure, housing solution. This prototype will serve to demonstrate how it is possible to live well within a very small footprint. We envisage setting up a Community Build Hub to make this possible.
The key features and benefits are:
- Quality of design, build and materials
- Eco friendly, energy efficient, easy to maintain
- Adaptable, accessible, affordable
- Custom finished to suit lifestyle and location
- Modular, easy to adapt and add to
- A positive and conscious lifestyle choice
- Suitable for singles, couples, small households
- Ideal for young persons, older persons, veterans, staff accommodation
Ongoingly, we will be holding open days and tours of the Compact Home where we will be showcasing it to the wider world. In Devon, there is a register with 460 people ready and waiting, willing to downsize and self-build their own home in order to create their own housing security.

The ultimate aim is for this to become a self-sustaining, self-funding, self-replicating housing movement. We are searching for a suitable site on which to showcase a pop up 'village' and are seeking ethical collaborators to help us set up a Social Enterprise.
Your gift will keep on giving. Whether a box of screws, a roof tile or to pay an electrician for an hour's work – all contributions will count massively - and your efforts will be forever appreciated. Please give the gift of home this Season – giving hope to the many.
