We are going to be able to run this once a week all year round, and if it's a success we would love to increase this to two nights a week.
The Well-being Cafe set up in August 2022 with the aim to support anyone on the community who was struggling with their mental health & well-being. As well as being a community hub for people to pop in for coffee, food, a chat and to make friends.
Since August 2022, we have now started providing peer support groups such as a knit & natter & single parent support group, courses such as anxiety management and happiness & community events.
This is all in addition to just being a home from home for many people in the community who need a safe space to just be & to open up about their struggles in a non-judgmental, no pressure environment with a friendly team who are there to listen.
Our next mission is to provide a safe space (all staff here are advanced DBS checked) for children ages 11-17 to pop in for a drink, free wifi and just to be able to chill with no pressure. We know the cost of living will be affecting many parents & families so in order to make this inclusive and accessible for every child we would like to provide every first drink for free, as well as an option for hot food free of charge.
We would ask anyone in community of you could donate as much as you can afford. Just £2 would be a free drink, £3 for hot food for a child but please give as much as you can.
Let's come together to provide a much needed safe space for our children.
