# team rebuild

Aim: after major life changing cancer surgery in march 2024 its now time to start to rebuild my life but i will have to make some major changes

•  Hello my name is Neil thank you for taking the time to read this .. last May 2023 I was diagnosed with level 3 bladder Cancer and after 2 biopsies last year I had to undergo a course of treatment  to include 4 months of high level chemotherapy between October 23 and February 24 and major life changing operation which was a robotic assisted radical cystectomy where there removed my bladder prostrate sperm sacs and all other areas to make you feel like a MAN again. I now have a permanent stoma for the rest of my life, the operation went well but surgical wounds were mismanaged on the wards in hospital and became infected so that created its on separate issues on my road to recovery but thankfully now they are healed and I'm on the right path now.

its now time for me to look to my future and where I go next in my life as a single person its been a lot to deal with and with minimal social support ,its now evident to me that I need to make major changes to my home to make things accessible to my needs now. I live in first floor apartment with very steep external staircase which is treacherous in wet and death trap in winter so long term I will need to move to somewhere ground floor in meantime I need to make some adaptations to my existing home but after having to give up work while I've been having treatment I simply cannot manage these things on my own.
