Teacher of the Year

In August 2023, Teacher of the Year made it's debut at The Space Theatre. Following sold-out shows, and fantastic audience feedback, we'd love to reassemble our team (and pay them the fair fees that they deserve) and bring this show home to Liverpool. 

Inspired by true events, Teacher of the Year follows a group of teenagers in Liverpool in the 1980s and their remarkable teacher Mr T. The real Mr T (Maurice Tickle) won the Teacher of the Year award in 1989 with over 7 million votes, the entire community came together in recognition of all the hard work and dedication he gave towards helping young people break out of their stereotypes and really make something of their lives. 

It would be an absolute dream to bring this show up to Liverpool, we've lost count of how many requests we've had to do so! To be able to return to the community who inspired this play, to be able to recruit young people from the local area and introduce them to theatre, to help them break into the industry, to bring back our cast and creative team and be able to pay them fairly is our end goal. It would mean the world to us if you helped us achieve that.
