TBWI is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to bringing chronic respiratory care directly into communities in Sierra Leone — starting in Bo District. Right now, we are at the beginning of our journey. We are not yet fully operational, but with your help, we can open our doors and begin providing life-changing care where it is desperately needed. Supported by Royal Papworth Hospital and working in collaboration with the Africa Respiratory Care Association and the Global Asthma and COPD Outreach Programme, we are building a vital service that local people can rely on. Our pilot studies have already revealed the scale of the need. In one community, 83% of people reported respiratory symptoms, yet only 10% of patients with severe obstruction had access to something as basic as a salbutamol inhaler. Imagine the situation in neighbouring communities that have never even had the chance to perform a simple lung function test. This is why we must act now. With your support, we can launch our clinic and start offering lung function tests for people with chronic respiratory symptoms, improving access to inhalers, tackling nutrition and health poverty, and working towards true lung health equity. We now have a permanent location secured — but we need your help to turn it into a fully functioning clinic. To make this vision a reality, we are running a crowdfunding campaign to purchase essential items like bricks, generators, spirometers, and inhalers. You can help us breathe life into this project. Please consider donating, spreading the word, or getting involved through sponsorship or partnership. Every contribution brings us one step closer to opening our doors and delivering care to the people who need it most. Thank you!

Help Us Build a Lifeline: A Clinic for Lung Health in Bo Town, Sierra Leone.

Our mission is to improve chronic lung health and give many people the chance to breathe easier. Air restriction means life limited and no one should have to bear the burden of lung disease alone.

Many of us know this struggle first-hand. We’ve seen loved ones suffer from COPD and asthma, and that's why we are determined to ensure that families in Sierra Leone don’t have to go through the same pain. This campaign is  to support our clinic building in Bo Town—a community so underserved that it currently lacks any facility for diagnosing or treating respiratory diseases.

A Foundation of Hope: Buy a Brick, Build a Future.

We need your help to open this clinic as soon as possible.

For just 57p, you can buy a brick to help build a clinic that will change lives. Every brick brings us closer to providing families in Sierra Leone with access to early diagnosis, preventative care, and education about lung health.

This clinic will be more than just a building—it will be a lifeline offering:

✅ Early diagnosis of COPD using spirometry and peak flow meters for asthma.
✅ Education and prevention programmes to reduce the risk of lung disease.
✅ Training for local Community Health Workers, creating jobs and boosting financial stability, which will strengthen the community.

Will You Join Us?

Our initial target is to raise £5,000 by October 2025. Your brick—just 57p—can help us build a future where lung health is a right, not a privilege.

Together, we can create a healthier, brighter future—brick by brick.

Thank you for your support!
