On the 25th July 2022 we'd raised £100 with 3 supporters in 28 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
Welcome to the Crowdfunder for Tax Figures. Firstly, let me explain what we hope Tax Figures will be. We want to create an online system where clients can select from simple menus what services they require based on their circumstances and the types of income to be reported on their tax return. Once subscribed the client can then securely upload the relevant documentation for completion of their UK tax return. As soon as this is done we will be notified automatically and the tax return work carried out before sending the completed return to them for approval and e-signature. Once approval is received the tax return will be filed with HMRC and submission receipt provided.
There are many reasons for HMRC to expect a UK tax return from an individual, initially this will be aimed at customers needing to complete a UK tax return due to either the level of their income (normally high earners in employment) or due to UK property income from 1 or 2 properties. The system will be able to generate a quotation for the work and collect payment securely by card before you can access the document upload function. Other services will be added to the platform in the future but we would welcome other users to email us with details of their requirements if they fall outside of the above two categories to receive a personalised quotation for the work instead. For instance reporting of crypto currency trading income or gains and other capital gains requirements from asset sales.
The idea is that Tax Figures can provide clients with the services of an experienced accountant but at a reasonable cost. By creating a fully online service, there will be no need for face to face meetings or even telephone consultations and it will be a paperless process. All communication will be via email however, the hope is the system will be simple to navigate and use. It is because of these time saving factors that the cost to the client can be kept low.
If tax advice is needed then this can also be arranged by phone or video chat with a separate charge for this service.
We are a husband and wife team, Gary and Sophie. I, Gary, am the accountant with over 20 years of experience. I have been running my own accountancy business for over 10 years and Sophie handles the administration side of the business. As this is a UK tax return only service we will not be dealing with trading businesses that require an accounting and tax return service. Therefore the lines of income we expect to deal with on the system will be from employments and pensions (P45's and P60's), employer benefits (P11d), bank interest received, dividends from share holdings, property/rental income. This is not a full list but covers the most common types of income we expect to report for individuals.
The minimum fee for a tax return would be priced at £90 (including VAT) up to £120 (including VAT) and will be quoted within the system based on the types of income you have along with the number of different items to be reported on your tax return. Where rental income is earned jointly with say a spouse, there will be two UK tax returns required and charged for.
