Aim: Our initiative aims to introduce a range of African cultural activities for children and young adults in Bradford.
Our journey began with a desire to create belonging for African families in Bradford, where we noticed a gap in culturally relevant activities. Despite setbacks, we realized the need to be the catalyst for change, leading to the birth of African Ventures CIC. Our mission is to provide a range of activities and services that not only entertain but also educate and support our community members, making us a unique beacon of cultural and recreational engagement in the local area.
To achieve these goals, we will use the funding to hire qualified history and dance teachers who are knowledgeable about African culture. The funding will also support the development and evaluation of the programme, ensuring its effectiveness and impact.
Additionally, we will use the funding to cover venue costs, provide food for participants, and offer activities specifically designed for children under 5. Marketing materials will be developed to promote the programme and attract participants. Furthermore, the grant will support salaries for directors overseeing the project and compensate volunteers who contribute their time and expertise.
This funding will be pivotal in delivering a high-quality and impactful cultural programme that fosters a deeper appreciation of African heritage among Bradford's youth.
