We're still collecting donations

On the 22nd June 2023 we'd raised £1,095 with 30 supporters in 42 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
We are raising funds to support the design, rehearsal and marketing for “Tam Lin Retold”, a new storytelling performance inspired by the well known English/Scots border Ballad of Tam Lin, with a focus on exploring the story from a contemporary viewpoint.
About the show…
The ballad may be known as Tam Lin, but he’s only a part of it. Exploring untold stories and unsung voices, this is badass border balladry for the old and the new. Part sung, part told, this is a tale of poison, pluck and changing shape.
The show is unscripted, orally told, and accompanied by live, improvised music. In this way the audience is central to the performance and we make our way into the greenwood together.
We aim for this project to reconnect audiences with community building practices that facilitate conversations about power and privilege in historical and modern Britain. The show is culturally and politically relevant whilst maintaining the traditional storytelling feeling of enchantment. We hope audiences will leave feeling inspired to explore their local landscapes for the stories that have been forgotten.
Why we need your help…
This is the first time Corinne will be touring her work around the South West as a hybrid theatre/storytelling performance and although we have applied for Arts Council funding to support the tour, we need a little help to get the show off the ground and make it a success. Touring small scale performance work is a financially challenging and risky business, even with high quality shows. We are thrilled to have booked 15 dates for the tour and can’t wait to make the show the best it can be and your help through the beginnings of this project would be hugely beneficial to the work.

A note from Corinne…
“Creating a project like this for the first time is exciting but it is full of risk. There are so many uncertainties involved and, even with only basic expenses covered, it is not cheap. As a storyteller I have always worked on my own and for the first time I'm bringing a team of incredibly talented artists and producers into a storytelling project. I would not normally ask for money in this way but we all believe in this project and the truth is that it will not happen without the generous support of those who have some funds to spare to invest in grassroots and emerging art. If you are in a position to donate funds (no matter how large or small), you will be helping to make this wonderful project a reality and we are hugely, deeply grateful”
