TALKHUB Men's Mental Health trip to Scotland

I'm Jay and i set up TALKHUB at the start of 2020 as a Men's Walk & Talk group as i wanted to help other guys to feel able to speak about there mental health problems after dealing with my own mental health issues most of my life. I have Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and only felt able to talk about it openly the past few years after doing a short film on it on Youtube. The response i had was really positive off people and it inspired me to want to help other guys to be able to talk about there problems and have a safe place to do so. 

TALKHUB started off as a Men's Walk & Talk group and has now grown into something much more. We organise walks in the Warrington and Merseyside area and also have started to play football with another Men's group called Enjoy football. During lockdown we did a lot of virtual walks on zoom and we connected with guys from all over the UK. 

A lot of our guys are from Liverpool, Warrington and surrounding areas and its good to see lads from different area's joining up and getting to know one another. We took part in a Mental health tournament in Liverpool in May and played against our friends from Man On Inverclyde in Scotland. We decided to set up a friendly football match in Inverclyde so we could strengthen our relationship between the groups and the guys and also to visit there well being centre and learn about what they do in there local area more. 

This trip will provide the lads and myself with a great opportunity to practise the 5 ways to wellbeing which are Connect, be active ,take notice, learn and give. The money raised will go on the cost of the transport so we can offer the trip at no cost to our guys.
