TAARU is a print and digital editorial project dedicated to storytelling around Africa and the diaspora. Focusing on fashion, arts & culture, TAARU aims to bridge the gap between Africa and the rest of the world.
Volume 1 is the series of anthologies celebrating African creative talent and culture. It is the genesis volume, and will centre around heritage and identity. We will focus on the various interpretations and meanings of the words heritage and identity explored through the work of African creative practitioners.
Through captivating stories, insightful interviews and striking visual arts, the magazine aims to act as a compass for an emerging generation of African artisans, visual artists, writers, talent and appreciators of African culture. TAARU Journal will be a resource, a vessel of inspiration and a means of entertainment for anyone interested in African arts. Volume 1 will introduce readers to African arts through the lens of creative talent and change makers living and working in the continent and in the diaspora.
TAARU is conceptualised as an extended personal final year graduation project.
