MISSION STATEMENT
Swindon Pride was launched in 2008, with the first ever Pride festival being held in Swindon. In 2009, the Pride event was expanded to incorporate Swindon & Wiltshire Pride. Swindon & Wiltshire pride gained charity status in 2019. The atmosphere within the Town Gardens is inclusive, happy and vibrant.
To promote equality and diversity for the public benefit and in particular the elimination of discrimination on the grounds of sexual orientation or gender identity,.
They provide vital safe, open & understanding environments where often isolated, vulnerable, discriminated against individuals can find support and a community of like-minded souls ready to accept them exactly as they are, often for the first time in their lives.
We also produce an annual LGBTQIA support guide, we had 3000 printed which we have started to distribute to schools, libraries, local prides as well as many local companies. The guide has local and national support information, a section on pronouns and identity as well as information on awareness days and support groups.
