Your support makes a difference
Aim: This event aims to platform SWorker voices, educate people on laws, legislation & being a better ally and raise funds for free workshops.
Support the First-Ever Sex Worker Weekender in the North East
We're raising £2,000 to fund the launch of the Sex Worker Weekender — a bold, community-led event created by and for sex workers, allies, and the wider public. Taking place this August in Gateshead, this two-day celebration is all about amplifying sex worker voices, educating allies, and building real-world support structures for those who need them most.
Our Goal
We’re asking for your support to cover the core costs of launching this powerful event. These include:
Any profit raised after overheads will go directly toward funding free self-care workshops for sex workers in the North East, organised through the North East Sex Worker Collective — a collective structure peer-led support network built on care, safety, and solidarity.
After the event, we’ll publish a full transparency report with a clear breakdown of costs, impact, and future plans.
Why This Matters
The North East has some of the highest rates of mental health crisis in the UK — especially among marginalised communities. While there’s limited official data on sex workers in the region, we know from lived experience and local conversations that support is lacking, stigma is high, and safe, accessible spaces are rare.
This event is a step toward changing that.
By donating, you are helping to:
These workshops will be the start of a growing regional network of sex workers, connected through community care, education, signposting and advocacy. A space by sex workers, for sex workers, where their voices lead.
