Sutton Bridge, a vibrant community in Spalding, UK, is in need of a new leisure centre. This isn't just for the local football team; it's for all activities that can bring our community together and promote healthy living. In the past, we had the Youth Club which served as an important social hub for our young people. However, currently we have no such facility.
The proposed leisure centre would not only provide much-needed recreational space but also serve as a platform to start more girls/boys teams in various sports. The lack of such facilities has been felt deeply within our community and it's time to change this.
According to Sport England's Active Lives Survey 2019/20, regular physical activity can help prevent serious diseases like diabetes, heart disease and cancer which could save the NHS £7.4 billion annually (source: Sport England). A new leisure centre would be instrumental in promoting regular physical activity among residents of all ages.
Let us show how much interest this project holds for Sutton Bridge Community by supporting the cause. We will be sourcing funding from many different avenues which are available to us, but those in control of the funding want to see that there is strong interest from the community for this centre. We aren't looking for large donations to the cause, although if you are in a position to do so and support this cause then we would be most grateful, but even a token £1 donation shows we have another community member in support of this project, its all about proving the headcount so that we can prove this project is needed and wanted in the community!
