I have worked in Swindon since 2011, providing chiropractic care/sports therapy to the town. In 2018, I purchased the clinic in which I have worked at for most of my career. In 2020, the world faced some incredible hardships with the emergence of the Pandemic.
Business wise, we have been hit hard by restrictions, closures, infections, and absences from work. The most recent of which is a good solid 12 weeks out of circulation due to covid related illness (in 2022). Specifically, I contracted it for the third time, and then went on to develop chest infections and pleurisy. 3 courses of antibiotics, chest x rays, a course of steroids, and It has been a fight for my health and to return to work. I am now left with chronic fatigue, lung issues, and a compromised immune system. The reinfection rate and absences are ongoing due to poor health (2023).
Sadly as I am the sole practitioner, and have been here throughout the entire pandemic, any illness or absence has meant that the clinic earns zero revenue. The losses have been staggering. Recruiting more clinical staff has also not been an easy undertaking.
I am asking the people of Swindon who have benefited from chiropractic care to please donate anything they are able, any amount makes the difference between helping us survive and having to close the doors.
