We're still collecting donations

On the 21st November 2022 we'd raised £130 with 7 supporters in 28 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.

Be part of our exciting journey as we launch Twisted Willow's new environmental intiative; 'To proactively recycle fallen timber - building a more sustainable future together'. ♻️

What is the mission?

We want to diversify our business by setting up a mobile milling capability. This will enable us to travel to the location of fallen trees to set up specialist equipment & turn waste timber into usable products by cutting timber into easy to move & manageable sizes.

Why is this needed ?

• Approximately 16 million tonnes of waste timber is created each year with only 15% going on to be recycled.

• Unrecycled timber can have many adverse affects on the environment including chemical leaching, bad odour, bio diversity loss & many more as a result of landfill.

• The more wood that is recycled the less trees have to be felled which preserves natural environment & its resources.

• It will reduce strain on local infrastructure eg  landfill and waste management systems.

• Harvesting timber would create a much lower carbon footprint than importing non native timbers from overseas.

It is important to know, that we will never fell a tree to make a sale. We can develop quality products, save the trees & pass on any prices savings to our customers, so it really is a win, win for everyone!

What is the ask?

Please support us & help us reach our funding target of £15,000.
This will help to buy the specialist equipment needed to set up a mobile milling operation including: mobile sawmill, chainsaws, milling bars & chains & a vehicle capable of towing weight & crossing rough terrain in all weathers.

And finally, a bit about us.

Twisted Willow is a family run business based in Manley, Cheshire, England. We supply timber to trade & public while also creating bespoke handmade furniture. All our timber comes from ethical and sustainable channels.

Community is a big part of our ethos. We currently sponsor our local football team, regularly donate timber products to the village primary school, & donate our offcuts for firewood too.
We are extremely passionate about the environment & what we do, which is why we want to make this happen - we just need a little help along the way ????
