Please help us raise £17,000 to change lives with Sustainable Solar power at our Learning Centre in Kwama, Sierra Leone.
We are currently running 50 computers and providing lighting for technical classes at Orville's Learning Centre at St Clement's School with power from a small, noisy, disruptive, smelly, and expensive generator, which is not good for the environment either!
Sierra Leone has sunshine for most of the year, and fuel is very expensive, so sustainable solar power makes much more sense.
With the right solar array, system, and batteries, we can run computing, tailoring and cooking classes all day while charging lithium batteries for evening classes too. We can even expand to 100 laptops or more!
The impact on education will be tremendous, as Orville's Learning Centre, built by Build on Books, is the only establishment offering such technical skills classes in the area.
Thousands of high school students are already coming from far and wide to attend St Clements Secondary School and benefit from our excellent library, science, and other learning facilities.
Technical skills training and first-rate academic teaching set St. Clements apart from other schools and propels our students to success in higher education and future employment. Many St Clements graduates are now going to university and medical schools!
Your contribution to solar power will help narrow the skills gap and make a tremendous difference to the future of education in Sierra Leone. It will allow us to expand our programs to include many more students yearning for these opportunities.
Please help in any way you can and change futures for the better!
