We are Raven Gill Scout Campsite, a beautiful piece of North Yorkshire, set in a valley with a lovely little stream - if you've been before, it's the one with the sheep! We provide a place where young people come for adventure and create memories for life. The campsite is open to Scouts, Guides and Schools so has a huge affect on the local community.
The campsite has been around for years and has been part of thousands of memories but the past year has been incredibly tough. We have been closed since the first lockdown began and with no campers providing income, it's safe to say we are struggling!
We have still got bills to pay and essential maintenance to carry out. In February this year due to the incredibly crazy snow we had, the roof to one of our buildings fell in. The boiler to one of our other buildings is also due for renewal but due to insufficient funds, we will have to put that back.
The snow may look picturesque but it certainly did some damage.
Which is why we need your help! If you donate money to the campsite, you will help us tremendously! You will help us firstly and most importantly- Keep open! Secondly, you will help us with essential maintenance that can be undertaken before we re-open again.
Why not donate what you would have paid in camp fees last year? You could even donate the cost of a few planks of wood to get the Jubilee Building re-clad and back open. You could donate the price of some copper piping, a week of electricity or the price of some toilet roll, it honestly all helps.
When you are able to camp again, we do hope to see you there. Fingers crossed!
