Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
We did it at the General Election! I'm so honoured to be the new MP for South Cambridgeshire.
I have been working hard over these first 6 months in Parliament and locally, helping bring about the change we were all seeking, speaking up for the most vulnerable, for our GPs, farmers and small businesses - and championing action on climate and Nature.
However, I need everyone to hear about the difference that it's making, speaking up on their behalf. Right now, not enough people are getting that news.
With your help, I need to raise £5,000 over the festive season to help spread my message further than ever, reaching every household over the next 3 months. To build much-needed trust in politics we need to show what it means to have an MP that listens and cares.
With your donations, we will be able to:
- Cover the costs of delivering regular news to every household about the progress of my positive plan of action (GPs and NHS; cost of living and housing; action on climate, water scarcity and sewage in our chalk streams).
- Boost a compelling digital campaign to reach all voters, particularly younger voters.
Why fund raise now when you've already been elected?
I am fundraising because a regular communication campaign costs money - and I haven't been able to raise the funds I need yet. Reform is on the rise and it has billionaire backers. We can’t match that - but with your help, we can raise enough money to get regular news to every household!
The battle for our key values and to stand up for what we believe in continues. That only happens when people hear what I'm doing and know about the difference we are making. I haven't been able to get that news out there because of a lack of money. That is why I am launching my fighting fund now so we can scale up our communications campaign and get cut-through to the people that matter, all year round.
South Cambs is a beautiful and vibrant place - and these are hugely exciting times for our constituency. Having someone speak up for our area really matters. Whether you are a Liberal Democrat supporter, someone who cares about green issues and/or someone who lent me your vote at the General Election to help defeat the Conservatives - I need your help now.
South Cambs’ constituency has over 78,000 voters in 41,500 houses houses and we want to reach as many as possible so that people can see I’m listening and standing up for them.
Here's to a 2025 full of hope and making a difference!
