Each year Warrington Foodbank has seen an increase in the number of people referred for emergency food support, with more parcels handed out this year than ever before. This increasing demand means we are having to buy more food and supplies to support some of the most vulnerable people in our community.
Thousands of people in our community have found themselves unable to access food for various reasons such as benefit delays, debts, health issues, relationship breakdowns, cost of living increases etc. Our dedicated volunteers work hard to ensure we can help those who are going without each day.
The emergency parcel we provide is not just made up of food, but also contains personal hygiene products such as toothpaste, deodorant, soaps, toilet roll as we recognize people experiencing food poverty are also going without other key household essentials which may hold them back from integrating with opportunities in the community such as job interviews or appointments with third party agencies.
Our charity is integrating with a greater number of third party agencies to provide a holistic approach to support our guests needs; providing emergency support and opportunities to help with additional underlying issues that have contributed to the crisis situation, providing a level of help and support greater than just the food.
The money we raise through your generosity will help us to ensure we can continue to provide daily essentials to those who need a little extra help and we can work with these individuals to improve their circumstances.
