We're still collecting donations

On the 13th June 2022 we'd raised £173 with 17 supporters in 56 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.

Just1swap is zero a shop that open two years ago to support the community in offering great value plastic free shopping.

We Have expanded dramatically over the last two years. I have personally funded the removal of a number of walls and an expansion recently giving us 50% more floor space in the shop.

This enabled us to increase our offering of zero waste shop and making us the largest collection of zero a shopping in Dorset. We recently converted the basement to a huge storage facility which is food safe and converted our storage room on the shopfloor to a new liquid refillary room.

We now offer better cost-effective food and essentials including laundry liquid, washing up liquid,  hair care,  kitchen range, and  bathroom range.

This was a really large investment for us. During a time where sales have been up and down drastically. Some months seeing our worst on record. However we took the plunge and spent everything we had on making us the best and the biggest zero waste shop.

We have been considering for some time to offer a free space for local crafters, painters, up cyclers, and to also offer informative classes like

Going through the menopause naturally

How to start your zero waste journey

How to shop zero waste on a budget

What are the most cost-effective swaps

How to start foraging

How to start growing your own

There are so many Ideas in our community and we want to be able to offer this space completely free.

We also want to be able to offer a community project where disadvantaged or vulnerable families can apply for one of the courses completely free of charge. Nobody should be diss clued it from the project because of their financial situation during these extremely tough times. We want to be able to have a small pot of money or have regular donations each month from some of our customers to help support these vulnerable adults and children. For example if there is a Mosaic class that is happening and the creator is offering a £30 a ticket space, we would be able to offer one or two places completely free of charge to those in the community that fall under the vulnerable disadvantaged category.

It’s really important that this space isn’t only free to the creators who are delivering the class but that it also offers spaces for those vulnerable adults and children that would not have access  to the financial income to allow them to participate. Creative arts have shown to be such a great positive mental impact on peoples lives nobody should be excluded because they can’t afford it.

we want to be able to offer this space completely free. The space will be able to hold between 25 and 30 people. Classes can run during the day or in the evening. We will be providing free of charge tables chairs a rain canopy or sun canopy and a safe working environment for people to deliver classes or informative evenings

Due to the huge spend recently in the development of the shop We are unable to fund the next stage of developing our backyard into this free space

We have received a number of quotes from local builders and we want to use as many Upcycled and recycled materials as possible and we want to support another local independent business by offering the work to a local tradesmen only.

If each one of our Instagram followers donated just £1 the project will be fully paid for no matter how little you can offer even if just 50p please do you support the course to help our local artists develop their own portfolio failures and offer our community a space where they can come and meet other like-minded people to learn and develop more about zero waste journey or going through homeopathic remedies or learning to paint draw  create mosaics.

Every penny counts  we thank you all from our hearts and hope this can be a great project for all!
