William and John’s story began as young boys in Conegliano di Treviso, Italy—two African youths far from home, leaning on each other for support and friendship. They became brothers in every sense, sharing dreams, laughter, and the struggles of growing up in a foreign land. Their bond never faded, even when life pulled them in different directions.
After college, William became a solar engineer while John worked as a truck driver at Mercedes in Bremen, Germany. Although separated by miles, they kept in close contact, often sharing funny videos and heartfelt messages. Over the years, they both built their families and careers, with William moving to Glasgow, Scotland, after marrying, and John settling with his wife and children in Germany.
Their dreams of building a better future together never faded, and one day, William proposed they start exporting used cars from Germany to Ghana. Trusting John and their shared vision, William borrowed £23,000 from Barclays to fund the first batch of cars. John traveled to Ghana to handle the sales, while William stayed behind in Glasgow, caring for his wife and two daughters.
Everything seemed to be going well. The cars were sold, and the plan looked promising.
But life took a tragic turn.
Shortly after John returned from Ghana, he fell seriously ill. Living alone and without anyone to care for him after surgery, his condition worsened. William noticed John’s absence from their usual messages, and after three days of silence, he decided to call him. What he received instead was a call from John’s brother in Italy—John had passed away on Sunday morning at the hospital in Germany.
Devastated by the loss of his brother, William was faced with a financial crisis—the £23,000 he had invested in the cars was now gone. The cars were sold, but William never saw a cent of the profits. The loss was overwhelming, but his grief was compounded by the fact that John’s family—his wife and children—were now depending on him for support.
A Heartfelt Promise to John’s Family
Despite his own financial struggles, William has made a selfless promise to support John’s wife and children, especially John’s son, who loves football. When the young boy asked for new football boots, William was overjoyed that the request came to him. It was exactly the kind of support he had always wanted to offer John’s family. By 10/05/2025, William will buy the boots or send the money for them, fulfilling that small but significant request.
But William needs your help.
He is still paying off the £23,000 loan from Barclays with his modest salary while also caring for his own family and trying to support John’s family. The money he invested in the cars is lost, but the dream of supporting John’s family remains. Your donations will help William recover from this financial setback and continue providing for John’s children, just as he promised his friend.

A Community United by Loss
In the wake of John’s death, William took the initiative to create a WhatsApp platform, bringing together all of John’s friends from across the world to plan his funeral. John was laid to rest in Germany, where he had lived, and in Italy, where he had grown up. The community of friends who came together during this difficult time reflected the deep bonds of brotherhood they shared.
Together, we can help William fulfill his promise to his best friend, John, and provide for his family.
