In 2023, 468 million children—more than 1 in 6 worldwide—live in conflict zones.
The 'War Through Children's Eyes' competition empowers children to share their experiences and foster empathy through art and writing.
Organised for the first time by the Azerbaijani Community in the United Kingdom in 2022, the competition was a tribute to the 30th anniversary of the Khojaly massacre that occurred on the night of February 26th, 1992, in Azerbaijan. This tragic event claimed the lives of 613 civilians, including 106 women and 63 children.
Approximately 40 schools across the UK participated, with around 500 entries received from children worldwide. The competition not only provides a platform for sharing experiences but also teaches empathy and kindness towards victims.
We need your support to cover the competition costs and publish a book featuring these incredible entries. This book will showcase their creativity and resilience and serve as a powerful call for peace. Your donation will empower young voices, spread hope, and contribute to building a better future for children in conflict zones.
