When I first had the idea to produce a show I don't think I fully realised how much I was taking on! From booking venues, auditioning actors, planning, marketing and publicity to finding rehearsal space and inspiring the actors - I haven't stopped in 5 months and I've not earnt a penny!
I've managed to fund the project so far from a pension pot. But now with 3 months to go until we start rehearsals that pot is nearing empty!
I am passionate about Theatre and have been involved in the Arts most of my life. I trained at Rose Bruford in London, have appeared in some pretty big shows, won or been nominated for awards and taken my own play to Edinburgh Fringe.
I would love your support - we want to sell tickets to cover the cost of the venues and the actors salaries but there are either costs too. Rehearsal space, actors travel, printing, accommodation whilst on tour, hell I'd even like a fee!
The play is a modern one set in the 1980s and tells the story of 4 Bouncers on one Friday night at a nightclub. Meet a whole host of characters, all played by the 4 actors including giggly girls, lads on the make all set against the glitzy glamour of the dance floor. At our final gig we even have a 1980s disco dance night to follow the show. It's going to be one helluva project!
