Support New Southsea Plant Shop

I have loved every minute of my market days in Southsea with you all over the last two years. I finally have the opportunity to open a plant shop right here in Marmion Road, Southsea and would really appreciate your support to be able to bring you the most beautiful indoor plants and planters everyday, not just on market days! 

Hi there

As many of you know I have been a regular stall holder at the 'Love Southsea' markets for over two years now and I can honestly say that I have loved every one of those days. Spending time chatting to lovely  local people about plants (and life in general ) is such a wonderful way to spend time! I hope that all of you who have visited our stall, or collected plants from me at home whether once or regularly, will know that I am passionate about plants as they have a positive impact on our health and wellbeing, have air purifying properties, help make your house a home, and also look so pretty!  My stall continues to grow, now taking up more space on Palmerston Road and we are lucky to be very busy. I have only been able to do this with the help of my family, particularly my other half Bruce who helps me heave boxes of plants and pots back and forward, and my daughters Meg and Ava who do a fabulous job helping all of you with your plant choices.

My aim has always been to bring you the best quality and easy to care for houseplants and pots and my business is built on honesty, enthusiasm and sharing my knowledge of plants. People visiting us for the first time always ask us where we are based and whether we have a shop and I will finally be able to point them in the direction of our new little green oasis. 

What’s the big idea?

 My vision is to create a beautiful plant obsessed, purse friendly shop with a friendly happy vibe and all the advice you could need to help you create your own indoor jungle. Whether you are looking for your next plant fix, handcrafted plant pot or nature inspired accessories and gifts, I want to make this your go-to destination. I love bringing people together and being part of such a strong, supportive local community. Collaborations with other small businesses and also providing a small space where community groups or small workshops can be held is definitely part of the plan. 

Why I need funding and how your money will be spent

Over the last two years, I have worked very hard to build my little business to what it is today and if you have been to my house to collect plants it is very obvious that as the business is growing the space my family have to live in is shrinking! It feels like the right time to move into a shop. Taking on this opportunity is both exciting and terrifying! I have been saving to get us through the door and start the necessary renovations but I am now asking for a little help from you all to make this a real asset within our community.  The money raised will be used to get the shop open quickly. I am already putting every spare minute into planning and sourcing everything needed for the space, but with all the enthusiasm and hard work in the world,  I really need a little support to build some of the fixtures and fittings the empty space needs.
