Henry's World Challenge Expedition 2026

Aim: I aim to raise £3000 for the World Challenge Borneo expedition while also supporting local and national charities.

About the Expedition

Hey everyone! I'm excited to share that in July 2026, I'm going on an a trip to Borneo with World Challenge. This isn't just any trip - it's an adventure where I'll get to help the community, save turtles, and learn about different cultures.

Why This Expedition Matters

Going to Borneo will help me learn about sustainability, as I'll find out how to take care of our planet better. I'll contribute to turtle conservation by working with the Turtle Foundation to protect Green and Olive Ridley Turtles at Tanjung Datu National Park, helping to keep the beaches clean and safe from poachers, and participating in research to aid the turtles. I'll experience new cultures, getting to see how people live in Borneo and learn more about the world.

My Preparation and Commitment

To get ready for this expedition, I'll take part in a series of training sessions that focus on understanding important global issues and how we can help, building my confidence, resilience, and leadership skills.

I need to raise £3000 to make this trip happen. This will help cover things like travel, accommodation, food, and activities. Every little bit helps, so if you can donate, that would be amazing!

Fundraising Challenges

I'm planning to take on some exciting challenges to raise money for my trip and UK charities. Here’s what I’ve got planned so far:

• Sponsored Half Marathon: I'm training hard for a half marathon. It'll be tough, but with the help of my Auntie Ellie and Uncle Ralph, I'm up for the challenge! *Update: After 25 weeks of dedicated training, I completed my half marathon on 30 November 2024, raising £1220! I donated £610 to Parkinson's UK in memory of my Grandfather, Stefan Schiop, who sadly passed away after facing the challenges of Parkinson's.
• Coast to Coast Hike (Planned for 2026): My biggest upcoming challenges will be the Coast to Coast walk from St Bees to Robin Hood’s Bay. This iconic 190-mile trek will take me across the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales, and North York Moors. It’s going to be a real test of endurance, but I’m determined to take it on as part of my fundraising journey!
