We're really lucky to have great, independently-run establishments like The Brown Bull, Corner Bar, Cucina Minucci at the Junction, The Lochbarr, and the Three Churches/Garthland in this village. The current Covid19 instructions from the government - that people should stay in, but that bars and pubs aren't officially being told to close - could absolutely ruin them, as they're unable to claim insurance without a government closure order.
This virus will pass, eventually - if we want things to go back to normal, we need to make sure that these four businesses have our support during this time. So - if you would buy a daily pint at the Corner Bar, why not donate that here instead? If you're meeting up in a pal's garden to share a socially-distant bottle of wine, why not pop a bit of what you've saved buying it at Spar instead of drinking rounds in the pub in here?
This fund will stay open for as long as these measures are in place - until we're all going out again - and on closing everything in here will be split evenly between the five businesses.
