To help resurface the tennis courts, install LED floodlights and improve disabled access to the courts creating a club for all.
by MAIDSTONE LAWN TENNIS CLUB in Maidstone, Kent, United Kingdom
On the 1st February 2024 we'd raised £1,359 with 24 supporters in 56 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
Maidstone Lawn Tennis Club is a community club situated in the heart of Maidstone. We have 4 Tennis courts and we are run by a group of volunteers who invest much of there time to help improve the club for all. We are a club open to all offering wide selection of coaching and social activities.
The club is working incredibly hard to improve the service we offer to the community, however we have very limited funds every year to make big changes. The 3 key areas the club is fundraising for are:
COURT RESURFACING
The courts have not been resurfaced for nearly 15 years and with rising cost of inflation and very limited support from the local council we need to try and raise an additional £45,000 to bring the courts to the best standard to help accommodate everyone.
FLOODLIGHTS
With the rising cost of electricity and want to improve our environmental impact the club needs to update our lighting from halogen to LED lights. We are now in a position that parts for our lights are unavailable and the rising costs have seen our electrical bill raise by over £2000 a year. To help support this work the club needs to raise £40,000.
DISABLED ACCESS RAMPS FROM CAR PARK TO CLUBHOUSE AND COURTS
Maidstone lawn tennis club is focused on providing the best community club to all however this is not currently possible due to the current concrete ramp being unsuitable for wheelchairs and limited mobility players. The club has a massive focus on being inclusive for all and wants to help anyone to have the opportunity to play tennis. with a better access ramps we could look at many opportunities to introduce wheelchair tennis, SEN sessions, walking tennis and much more. To support this project the club needs to raise between £10,000 to £20,000 dependant on surveys.
we’ll spend the money raised
All donations will go directly to these projects and to say thank you to anyone willing to support us we would like to create a thank feature wall within the clubhouse and on our website, we will also like to support local businesses by advertising there businesses on our fences if they make a donation to this amazing project.
The club currently has in excess 350 people playing throughout the year. We really would love to get the club to a position to double this number and offer more services to benefit the community.
A Prize draw will take place for all donations of our reward packages. One winner from each category will be randomly selected to win the following prizes:
Bronze£39 to £77 - Gift Voucher for ACE Sports Store
Silver £78 to £116- 2x 1 hour of 1 2 1 coaching with Hotshotz Tennis coach
Gold £117 and above- 1 year free Membership at Maidstone Lawn Tennis Club
