In September I’ll be starting my masters at The Slade. I always thought that when the time came for me to do my post-graduate studies, I’d like it to be at The Slade, so I was overjoyed when I got my place. It means I’ll have two years dedicated to diving deep into my artistic practice. Exploring all the ways in which my practice has already started to flow more effortlessly, through drawing, text based work and ceramics, alongside the anchor of painting.
Led by an investigation into the liminal energies contained within the natural world, my practice explores landscape as a site for healing and transformation beyond human-centric perspectives. The very act of painting is for me a search toward the idea, journeying to discover the image and the narrative contained within. Just as walking is the act to find narrative contained within the land, it is the act of re-telling through paint which allows these stories to live and morph.
There is a generosity that comes from being an artist, a generosity which allows others to see the world in a different way through the work that we create. It is following this generous spirit of creation that I wish to share more of my practice with the world. To employ healing modalities such as Reiki and meditation to unlock not only my own creativity but those who wish to work with me.
Generosity is also what I am asking for from you, in order to support me over the next two years. I am looking for donations to fund my studies and buy materials (paint is pricey!).
