Amber discovered her love of BMXing after watching her cousins complete in a competition in Devon in 2023.
Her Dad (Lee) found a local club to their home and signed Amber straight up, armed with a second hand bike and gear Amber spent all her spare time at the track practicing in all weathers!!
To start with Amber found herself trailing behind the other riders at the club, but this just made her even more determined to improve and her competitive side definitely came through with each and every session.
Her club coaches saw a natural talent, and her drive and determination with each lap on the track have helped to mould and increase her ability and she has now competed regularly in events and has achieved fantastic results and improvements.
Amber has trained so hard and she was so chuffed when she competed in her first club race and this just drove her passion for this even more, especially as she was completing against older competitors. The support she has received from her coach and family combined makes her want to compete even more and to show them just how far she can take her passion for BMXing....(olympic's are set in her sights!)
Every Birthday and Christmas lists since starting this sport have comprised of BMX bike parts, upgrades, kits, homemade wheelie stands in the back garden and anything else she needs to continue to improve and so much more!
As with every sport, there comes a time when the costs of doing this on a serious level supersedes a families budget and Ambers family have done so well to support Amber to this stage and have made sacrifices as a whole for her to continue to attend training and events.
Sadly without additional external support for the events in the UK and Europe that require staying away from home, the cost of hotels, flights, taking her bike and needed gear and equipment, Amber won't be able to attend the World Championships.
For an 11 year Old, Amber is so self driven to achieve her best and opportunities like the Worlds for her to challenge herself are so important.
Your help and generosity to raise £2,500.00 will be a massive boost in sending Amber to all of these events with her Dad proudly supporting each and every step she takes this year!
We want to thank everyone in advance of donating to help with such a good cause for a young person, especially in a world where younger and younger children are being drawn into a world of depression, crime and despair - every now and then there's a little shining light of talent and we all just need to help support this light to shine brighter :-)
Amber currently races for Warn (a development team) and is coached under Harriet Alexander. Please take a look at Ambers instagram profile to see her racing and her achievements to date, she is definitely a new name to look out for in the BMXing World in years to come!
