I've had the blessing to call Rhea my friend.
We've talked about life and our experiences of breaking the cycle of CSA and abuse to become the Women and Mothers we are today.
Rhea has experienced a life that many of us couldn't even imagine let alone survive including bereavement and domestic violence.
She is an American in Ireland having been lured to the emerald isle under false pretences and coercive control.
She's a loving and dedicated Single Mother to three children. She's dedicated her time to assisting other women who are on the fringes of society and also escaping poverty and DV.
Sadly lean times have become relentless and despite exhausting all avenues of employment opportunities and charitable assistance, Rhea is still in a position where she just can't catch a break.
This money will go towards her brilliant daughter who requires a mandatory passport stamp (only accessible by flying to Dublin and the passport control/embassy) to be able to attend further education in Ireland, without this passport and stamp she won't be able to even seek employment (you have to have completed your education to be able to move forward into employment or defence enrolment). Unfortunately there is zero funding for this for women and children in hardship and without a financial support network.
So as a friend I want to show this amazing woman that the sisterhood is strong, beautiful and generous because she doesn't deserve to struggle day after day and that her children deserve the same opportunities irrelevant of our social and economical circumstances.
Coming together to help, Rheas daughter and kids will mean the world to me. If anyone deserves a break and some human compassion it's this funny, genuine and loving woman and her amazing children. I couldn't imagine being sold a lie to get me to start a life in a new country and then being a victim of DV and control. That's not what she was promised or deserving of. Thankfully she escaped that environment but it wasn't without becoming completely isolated and left without a support network.
So I'd love to raise €1000 please to help her daughters vital passport stamp and cover just basic groceries for a few weeks.
