Support a single mum’s start-up business

Aim: Single mum raising £15000 to start a transport business. Help me support my kids and create jobs with a ride-hailing service.

Hello, and thank you so much for taking the time to visit my fundraiser.

My name is LJ, and I’m a single mother of two, currently living in the UK. I’ve been facing many challenges, physically, emotionally, and financially. Due to a serious disc problem in my back, I am unable to work regular jobs that require sitting for long periods or doing physical tasks. This has made it incredibly hard to provide for my children and build a stable life.

But I have a plan and I need your help to make it a reality.

I am raising £15,000 to launch a digital transport business in Kinshasa, DRC. My goal is to:

• Travel to Dubai to purchase 2 reliable vehicles, which are more affordable and of better quality than local options.
• Ship the vehicles to Kinshasa, where there is high demand for private transport services.
• Hire local drivers to operate the cars.
• Partner with Yango, a ride-hailing platform similar to Uber that is growing in Kinshasa.
• Manage the business remotely, within my health limits, to ensure consistent service, income, and job creation.

This business will give me the chance to:

• Support my children consistently
• Gain financial independence
• Create job opportunities for others in Kinshasa

I’ve researched the logistics, spoken to contacts in Dubai and Kinshasa, and prepared for every step, but I cannot do this without your support. The £15,000 will cover:

• Flights to and accommodation in Dubai
• Purchase of 2 vehicles
• Shipping and customs to the DRC
• Business registration and licensing
• Initial driver wages and vehicle setup
• Yango platform integration fees
