Sunflowers Wales: Support Ukraine Now

My name is Dr Dmitri Finkelshtein, and I am the Chair of Sunflowers Wales, a dedicated community group established two years ago to support Ukrainians both in Ukraine and Wales.

Since our inception, we have worked tirelessly to provide much-needed medical supplies to Ukrainian paramedics and hospitals, as well as support Ukrainians who have found refuge here in Wales. Our efforts are entirely volunteer-driven, and we are immensely proud of what we have achieved so far:

• Raised over £65,000 in donations.
• Received Amazon list items worth approximately £8,500.
• Collected hundreds of bags and boxes of medical supplies.
• Purchased medical supplies worth over £55,000.
• Sent nearly 70 cubic meters of medical supplies and selected humanitarian aid to Ukraine.
• In Wales, with over £10,000 in funding, we have organized and participated in:
• Over 20 fundraising events.
• Over 40 social events, including dance, art, and cooking classes, as well as celebrations for Christmas, Easter, Halloween, and special Ukrainian holidays.

Our work has made a significant impact, but we know there is still much more to be done. As the situation in Ukraine remains critical, the need for medical supplies continues to grow.
