Suits N Tracksuits is the story of 2 childhood friends Dexter and Javed who grew up in inner city London. Rather than choose gangs and illegal activities, they both worked very hard despite challenging circumstances. Javed went to uni, got an MBA, worked for Microsoft, Amazon and writes for Forbes. Dexter became an entrepreneur having chosen not to take the academic route. Dexter is an award winning business owner and is a great success. Their message is whether you wear a suit, a tracksuit, whether you're asian, black or otherwise, whatever area you live in, what you put in is what you get out. The duo want to visit more schools and youth centres to share their message and already have self funded visits all the way up to Newcastle, south to Southampton, across London and more. Due to restricted school budgets and zero sponsorship, they have day to day responsibilities and through funding, it will free up more time to focus on their inspiration programmes to visit more schools across the country. Feedback from their school sessions, podcast and social media has already shown to have kept the youth out of gangs and they have seen feedback showing youth starting work, starting businesses and overall an improvement in their attention levels at schools and colleges.
Javed and Dexter want to share their lived experience journeys as two childhood neighbours who were in the same class, lived on the same street, that they made great successes of themselves. They share their highs, lows, and are very real in the choices they were faced in their lives.
Their overall goal is to continue to connect and inspire the youth to be positive role models in society and give back to the UK in positive ways.
