Sugarwise is a UK based charity and the international authority for sugar claims. Sugarwise have more than 850 certified products shipping to over 80 countries across Europe, Australia, China, and the Middle East.
Sugarwise also works with schools, catering companies and local authorities, to certify their menu's. We now have approximately one million children eating from SUGARWISE menus.
Our children are now living shorter lives than us. We want to be able to help turn the tide on the levels of Obesity and type 2 Diabetes in Reception years (children age 4-5 years).
Sugarwise has set up a UK Based charity initiative that can work with the early year's settings to reduce levels of child obesity, and help educate, and improve the food environment of our children and future generations.
Sugarwise is 2 Mums on a mission to change the food environment for our children. What better place to start than in the early year settings?
The early year's settings in the UK get no support, and there is very little guidance around menus, and meal planning, which is largely due to the lack of funding and resources available to them.
At Sugarwise we want to help! That is why we are launching "OPERATION NOURISH BRITAIN" We can do this by extending our school menu SUGARWISE catering mark, which also includes the support of our qualified nutrition team, to be able to work with the settings, and to further improve the food we are serving to our children at their most vulnerable age.
- The question is no longer “why should" we but “why shouldn’t" we??.
- Menus will be certified free of charge with the SUGARWISE Catering Mark, this service is ordinarily charged at a fixed fee per organisation and setting by both ourselves and other certifications. Although currently, no certifications cover the early year's sector.
- Access to our professional qualified nutrition team.
- Settings can differentiate from local settings by being certified or carrying a higher level of certification.
- Parents will be able to look for the SUGARWISE Catering Mark as a sign to trust that their children's nutritional needs are being met.
- Free marketing and Educational materials.
- Help turn the tide on obesity and other non-communicable diseases linked to diet.
- Be part of the solution and re-design our children's food environment helping them to live longer healthier lives.
