Stratford-upon-Avon Sea Cadets (TS Gurkha) is a voluntary uniformed youth organisation; although part of a national organisation, we are a self-funded small charity in our own right. We must raise funds for all our activities and maintain our buildings and facilities.
We are part of the broader national Sea Cadets organisation and offer a different kind of adventure for 10 to 18-year-olds, with every young person launched for life.
At Stratford-upon-Avon Sea Cadets, we aim to give young people an experience that will help them grow into the person they want to be in a safe and friendly environment. Through various activities and adventures, our cadets learn teamwork, respect, loyalty, self-confidence, commitment, self-discipline, honesty and how to be the best version of ourselves.
This is achieved through various activities on and off the water. These include orienteering, rock climbing, rowing, kayaking, sailing, ceremonial drill and parading, first aid, marine engineering, seamanship, leadership, navigation, weather forecasting and power boating. In addition, we encourage our cadets to participate in regional and national competitions… Our cadets can also gain external qualifications through the RYA, DofE, BTEC and British Canoeing.
Our Objective
To provide the best possible cadet experience to the young people of Stratford-upon-Avon and the surrounding area.
