We aim to raise up to £5k to repair damage to our facilities caused by storm Eowyn

by Liam Simpson in Chester-le-Street, County Durham, United Kingdom

Who are we?

The first recorded match involving Chester-le-Street Cricket Club at the current Ropery Lane ground was against Durham City Cricket Club in 1866, with ten shillings up for grabs for the winners. We pride ourselves at being at the heart of our community, bringing together a perfect mix of sport enthusiasts and local people from all over the region under one roof.

Why are we crowdfunding?

Storm Eowyn and its high winds have damaged the scoreboard which houses our new, electronic scoreboard and all of the junior coaching equipment. Effectively the roof has blown clean off and we need to replace it. To add to this the wind has blown our large sight screens over and into the wall causing serious structural damage to both the screens and the wall. We need the funds to fix the roof, screens and wall.

How we’ll spend the money raised

We will use all of the funds to repair all of the damage caused by the storm winds to ensure the scoreboard, wall and screens are all ready for the season
