Friend in Need Community Centre was founded in 1982 for the purpose of serving the needs of the local community – it came out of the realisation that the church was essentially inactive in providing/showing wider care in the community.
After being established for a while, the local authority asked the founding Chairman to take on the provision of day centre places for some of their own clients. Friend in Need therefore entered into a contract with the local authority to provide day care for vulnerable adults.
So our aim is to raise money for this amazing charitable cause that is very important to East Barnet residents and donate and help reach target in aid of FIN. Anything you can contribute towards helping achieve the target will be massively appreciated. FIN provided our family with wonderful and valuable support 8 years ago when our mum was in the early stages of dementia. Mum enjoyed her visits to the day centre so the centre should remain open as, unfortunately, dementia is not going away. Keep up the good work FIN and let's hope Barnet Council and our MP can find the necessary funds to keep the centre open.
