I didn’t create State of Rum just to make another bottle of rum—I created it to make a statement.
I believe in breaking barriers and redefining expectations—not just in the spirits industry, but in life itself. Rum has been boxed in by tired clichés for too long. It deserves better. People deserve better. State of Rum was born to rip up the rulebook and bring boldness, soul, and unapologetic authenticity into every drop.
As a single mum and the first British South Asian woman to solely own an independent rum brand in the UK, I know what it feels like to be underestimated. To be the only one in the room. To build something from nothing. I didn’t have a blueprint—I became the blueprint.
State of Rum isn’t just about what’s in the bottle. It’s about standing up when you’re told to sit down. It’s about creating space where none existed, and lighting a fire under an industry that’s overdue for change. It’s about showing the world that true innovation doesn’t come from playing it safe—it comes from those who dare to be different.
This is more than rum. This is a revolution in a bottle.
