Star Diving Club Guildford has its roots in the 1970s and is a non-profit diving club providing springboard and platform diving to over 150 children and adults across Surrey, Hampshire, Middlesex, and West Sussex.

We provide training for divers across all levels. We run an extensive learn-to-dive program for child and adult beginners. In addition, we also run a comprehensive pathway program for those with identified talent in our squad teams. Divers compete at County, Regional and National levels.

As a club, we take great pride in our training pathways and the fact we are open to all ages and abilities. Star Diving Club is open and welcoming to all. We will always work towards maximizing the abilities of each individual while providing opportunities for all to succeed in their goals and to build a vibrant, positive, and successful club.
Many of our divers have been helped and guided by our coaches to get their own qualifications and have now stepped into coaching themselves which is a great continuation of the club.

Like many other sports clubs, Star Diving Club Guildford has been significantly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. With not being able to operate for over 6 months since the start of the first lockdown we can now feel the impact on our financials.

Unfortunately, the club has been unable to run a range of fundraisers, events, club championships, holiday camps, and raffles, that usually help support the ongoing running costs of the club. As we are a non-profit club, all income generated goes towards overheads including pool hire, coaching fees, coaching equipment, and maintenance costs.

The lack of income and increased pool costs due to COVID restrictions mean the club is now seeking financial support to help with its continued operation in 2021 and the long-term future of the club.
- Paying for additional pool/dryland and coaching time to ensure everyone can dive in an affordable, fun, safe, and friendly manner.
- Paying for expenses associated with Covid guidelines at diving
- Paying our coaching team to ensure our members stay fit, both physically and mentally during any further lockdowns
- Paying for coach and volunteer training and certificates
- Maintain, replace and purchase new equipment such as dry boards, mats, PPE, etc.
- Replenish reserves in case of any further restrictions
Your financial help will ensure that Star Diving Club can survive and can continue to provide opportunities for our members, both current and future, to grow and develop. It will ensure the future of our fantastic club which is integral to the physical and mental wellbeing of so many. All monies raised will go directly to covering the shortfall of income caused by COVID-19

As we are an active bunch and can’t sit still we have decided to challenge ourselves to reach this target – we know that the added exercise will keep us fit and strong while at the same time we can keep our community spirit up.
This is why we will try to walk, run, cycle, or swim 5000km as a team. Every step will count - if this is your daily walk or run, a family hike on the weekend, or your wild swim! Keep making those steps to show that as a community we can reach that goal. We have set up a dedicated Strava Club where you can track your miles. We'll be updating this page and all our social channels weekly to see how far we have come.
Let's do this - together we are strong
