Who Are We?
Buxton Community Choir is a vibrant and welcoming group of around 60 members who share a passion for singing and making music together. We are a diverse mix of individuals, from complete beginners to seasoned singers, united by a love of music and a sense of community. There are no auditions or prior experience required to join – just enthusiasm and a voice! The choir is proudly led by a dedicated committee and our talented musical director, Chris Blackshaw, who brings his expertise and energy to every rehearsal.
What Do We Do?
We come together every Monday evening at Buxton Methodist Church from 7pm to 9pm to rehearse an exciting and varied repertoire of songs. From timeless classics to modern hits, our performances are designed to bring joy and connection to our audiences. Here are some reviews we have received -

Beyond singing, we aim to foster friendships and build a strong sense of community among our members. We regularly perform at local events and celebrations, spreading positivity and showcasing the power of music to bring people together. Here is what one of our choir members had to say -

Why Do We Need Staging?
With a growing membership of 60 singers, staging has become essential to ensure that all of our members can be seen and heard during performances. Staging helps us elevate our visibility, improves sound projection, and creates a more professional and polished experience for our audiences. It also allows our musical director, Chris Blackshaw, to lead effectively, ensuring that every harmony and note shines. As we continue to grow and perform in larger venues, proper staging will help us deliver the best possible performances and make a bigger impact in our community.
