MIV (Y8 girls) in St Prisca's House, St Mary's Calne have been enjoying exchanging letters with the elderly residents of Penn Court during the lockdown. As it seems that it might yet be some time until the girls can visit in person, they decided they would like to do something to show their continued support.
The MIV heard that the residents would love to have a couple of additional garden benches to allow them to be able to enjoy their outside space whilst socially distancing. They are also aware that the residents feel passionately that the work that Centrepoint does in supporting homeless young people aged 16-25 years. Therefore, any additional funds raised will be donated to the residents' chosen charity, Centrepoint.
So, every girl in St Prisca's will be collectively walking, running, cycling or swimming at least 213.4 km which is the distance from St Mary's School to Isle of Wight and back. Each girl and member of staff who would have travelled there will need to contribute at least 6.5km.
This idea and desire to show support has been entirely generated by the girls and so we wish them the best of luck and look forward to hearing how they get on.
Good Luck girls and staff!
