St Matthew's Highfield is a much loved church building and grounds.
The churches flagpole sits on the North East corner of the tower and is one of the first things you see as you drive from Wigan into Highfield.
Various flags are on display throughout the year, but none more so than the Union Jack.
Recent inspection has seen that the old flag is very worn, freyed and discoloured. Also the pulley rope needs replacing along with some clips.
In addition, the church grave yard is looked after by a volunteer group who come every two weeks to maintain the site. They are in need of some funds for the gardening equipment maintenance, replacements etc.
If we can pull together to get some extra funds, these will be put to good use and we can do more to help with much needed work around the church yard....
Thanks in advance for your donation, large or small!
