ST JOHN'S SCHOOL PARENTS AND FRIENDS ASSOCIATION (TUNBRIDGE WELLS)

We're on a mission to transform our school library from drab to fab; and we need your help please!

St John's Primary School in Tunbridge Wells, Kent has spent this academic year (2022-23) fundraising for a much-needed redesign and refurbishment of their library. The PFA has agreed to a target of £10,000 by September 2023 to create the library the children and teachers need; and building work is starting over the summer holidays!

We've made a cracking start thanks to well supported cake sales, plant sales, summer fair, discos, break the rules and crazy hair days. We're still a way off our target. That's where we need your help please.

The Current Library: A Lacklustre Space

Step inside our current library, and you'll find a less-than-inspiring setup.

It's cramped, outdated, and worst of all, it doubles as a busy corridor, constantly disrupting the peaceful reading atmosphere. We believe our pupils deserve better - a space that captivates their imagination and ignites their love for reading.

Our Vision: A Forest-Themed Haven of Learning

Imagine stepping into our redesigned library and being transported into a whimsical forest-themed wonderland. Picture cosy seating areas adorned with soft toadstools, inviting our young readers to snuggle up with their favourite books. With additional shelving and improved book accessibility, their literary adventures will know no bounds. Vibrant artwork will grace the walls, sparking their creativity and transporting them to new worlds with every page turned.

Building a Peaceful Sanctuary

We're determined to create a tranquil sanctuary where our pupils can lose themselves in the magic of storytelling. That's why we plan to add a partition wall, ensuring uninterrupted reading time without the constant hustle and bustle of the corridor. We want our children to embark on extraordinary adventures within the pages of their books, undisturbed by the outside world.
