SSCKP are raising funds to buy a vehicle to transform into a mobile kitchen to reach all communities & help tackle food waste & food poverty

Seasoned and Saiged Community Kitchen Program (SSCKP) are currently raising funds to help us buy a vehicle that we can transform into a mobile kitchen.

SSCKP aims to serve as a vital community interest food initiative dedicated to providing benefits to persons from all walks of life.

By donating anything you can towards our vehicle, you will be enabling us to have a mobile kitchen which we can use to reach members of the public in all areas, where we will be running an outreach pathway to get individuals cooking from our mobile kitchen.

Our vehicle is going to cost around £60,000.00 this will include:

Initial cost for a Winnebago / Van / Caravan to be converted with a minimum of 2 cooking stations (this includes ovens and hobs)

  • A suitable fridge and freezer to store the surplus food that the community will be receiving
  • Storage cupboards for all non-perishable goods
  • A preparation area including a double sink
  • A seating area to enable cookery sessions, community outreach and online learning facilities

Using only surplus food that would otherwise be thrown away from large well know organisations we can offer nutritious meals for anyone who needs.

Approximately 3.12 million people used a food bank in the United Kingdom and just between June and July 2024, 13.6% of households in the UK ate less or went a day without eating because they couldn’t access or afford food, our mobile vehicle can help distribute food to anyone who needs it.  There should be no one unable to eat and we can help but not without your help.

SSCKP will be giving out SMART bags that are filled with fresh surplus ingredients that are all supplied by local supermarkets, local green grocers, butchers and other charities who supply surplus produce.

We will be offering cooking ideas for all, along with people being able to participate in cookery classes.  Our SMART bags will be available on our mobile kitchen and will be delivered throughout the community weekly.

Seasoned and Saiged Community Kitchen Program (SSCKP) are here to help, by developing confidence building and integration back into the community whilst building connections on a path of holistic wellness orchestrated through food. We recognize that this is an ongoing journey of healing, letting go of stigmas which surround food poverty and mental health.

As a Non-profit CIC ALL funding is put straight back into our community where it should be and working with surplus food, we can help to combat food waste and food poverty within our local communities!
