Aim: To transform the lives of people struggling with their mental health through sport
Hello! (We always think it's important to give a warm welcome to everyone!)
So who are we... we're Sport in Mind and our mission is short and simple - we're here to transform the nation's mental health through sport.
If you havent seen our film yet, please check it out because it sums up exactly who we are, why we operate and why we need your support.
Love sport and physical activity? Recognise the benefits of being active on your mental health?
If so, then join our community because you're just like us at Sport in Mind and the thousands of people we support every day.
Since 2010, we've used sport to help aid the recovery of over 30,000 people with mental health problems... but sadly there are millions of other children, young people and adults out there struggling every day in need of our support. So that's why we are here today fundraising to enable us to establish new sports sessions that will help improve people's mental health, reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression, improve self-esteem, combat social isolation and empower people to move their lives forward in a positive direction.
With just a little support from you we can do great things and transform so many people's lives, so please help us today make tomorrow brighter for someone.
Unfortunately, we're fundraising here because the nation is in a mental health crisis and demand for our services has quadrupled. More people than ever before are struggling with their mental health and waiting times for children to receive help is often years!
Sport in Mind's work proves a crucial lifeline to thousands of people every year, but demand for our services outweighs capacity so we are seeking funding to ensure we respond to this demand by setting up new sessions
Sport in Mind will use all money raised to deliver 480 new sport and physical activity sessions to help hundreds of people with mental health problems.
Sport in Mind's work is nationally unique and is backed by the NHS. Each year we receive thousands of referrals from the NHS, supporting people from all walks of life. Our work is representative of the communities we work with and we are driven to reach and make a difference to the lives of anyone experiencing mental health problems. Our programmes support children, young people, adults, older adults and mum and babies.
There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.
1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!
2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.
3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!
4. Fundraise for us. If you want to run your own fundraiser – maybe a sponsored activity or similar – use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!
