On the 4th March 2023 we'd raised £500 with 20 supporters in 46 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
Speed Dating is THAT 'realistic' rom-com that has everything on top of romance and comedy! Say goodbye to "worn-out" cliches and hello to the "modern world dating"!
Zoya has had a disastrous dating past, but with her head held high, she goes ahead and gives a speed dating event a go as a last resort. Here she meets a variety of unique and quirky characters, breaking the fourth wall at her quick meets; some wacky, others delving a bit more serious and deep, as her imagination roams free with crazy scenarios in her head.
By Zoya not taking herself too seriously, giving everyone a chance by exploring something new, once the bell goes “ding”; the next date will come sooner than she thinks.
WHO WILL BE ZOYA?
Meet Arianna Gallenzi!!
Bringing a fresh energetic vibe, incredible talent, and a passion for our project, we have the perfect person to bring to life our Zoya!
Arianna has worked within Threate and Short Film productions such as "RECAP" (2021), "The Window Ranter"(2022), "Gloria" (2022), and many more brilliant works, and are very excited to be working with her on 'Speed Dating' very soon.
HOW WE WILL USE THE FUNDING:
Your contributions will go towards covering the cost of production, as well as getting the film into festivals once it is released.
Inspired by real online stories, personal experiences, and some rich imagination from the makers , this short film puts a mirror in front of dating in today's society after a 2-year pandemic. The goal is to have a realistic portrayal of different situations one can be found in nowadays –at social gatherings, a bar, the club, and yes, at speed dating events!– all while maintaining a humorous, light-hearted mood.
Inspiration for this comes from people’s favorite shows such as Fleabag, The Office, or Miranda. There is a female character at the center, yet so relatable to everyone and anyone in the way her mind works, it feels like we are on these dates with her.
Lets take out the serious from of dating and poke fun at it.
