Aim: I want to set up a home eyecare services for those who are unable to reach the High Street. For this I need frame stock and testing kit.

Help Launch Specs at Home – Eyecare with Heart, Delivered to the Door

Hi, I'm Dave Ellis — a fully qualified Dispensing Optician with 20 years’ experience, and I’m launching Specs at Home to bring high-quality, honest eyecare directly to people in their own homes.

Many older people, especially those in care homes or living alone, struggle to access the eyecare they need. They’re often overlooked or left with rushed, impersonal services — and that’s just not good enough.

I’m building Specs at Home to change that.

Why I Need Your Help

I’ve put everything I can into getting this off the ground — from planning services, my frame and lens offering, preparing marketing material and getting set up for in-home visits. Now, I’m turning to my community for support to raise the final funds needed to buy essential clinical equipment and stock.

With your help, I’ll be able to purchase:

A portable eye examination kit, including equipment necessary to photograph the back of the eye in portable form, essential for thorough clinical assessment.

High-quality trial frames and lenses

A full dispensing kit for fitting spectacles

A carefully chosen selection of stylish, high-quality frames

Tools and spares for repairs and adjustments

This will allow me to provide proper, professional care in homes and care settings — the same level of attention you’d expect on the High Street, but with more time, dignity, and kindness.
