This film explores the struggles of artists who seek perfection. We want to explore how the pursuit of perfection inhibits creativity.

Hello! We are a group of film students working on a self-funded passion project.
This film will follow an art student studying sculptures who feels himself failing to create. With monetary and family pressures on his back he is desperate to find something to give him his first 'big break,' so when he finds someone elses sketchbook on the floor of his universitys art studio he decides to use the girls drawing to create something himself — something that will fix all of his life problems. As he begins to create, he looses himself in the ideas of perfection and isolation working for days on end with no break on this 'perfect girl.'
Inspired by Synecdoche, New York and Whiplash, we want to work on a project that puts you into the headspace of an artist loosing themselves in their art. Through this film we want to create a world within the character and force the audience into that world so they can truly feel what the character feels.
With your support we would be able to buy the necessary props and locations to take this film to the next level. We would also be able to provide food to the cast and crew while filming -- and then hopefully send the film out to some festivals to reach a wider audience!
INTRODUCING THE DIRECTOR:
Director: Hi! I'm Zia and I am the director of Something Perfect!
This really is a passion project as it explores a subject all of us, not only artists, can deeply relate to - highlighting this might help some of us to move on from this obsessive strive for perfection, and embracing the little imperfections we probably only notice ourselves.
I'm super excited for this project, working with a team full of extremely competent and extraordinary people, to bring this story to life!
Thank you for considering donating to our project and helping our dreams for this film come true! We are incredibly grateful to every person that supports us, with a donation to help us create this film, or just with your kind words and interest in what we are making.
