After the SOCOTEC Group convention in June a group of 8 from the UK and France will be challenging ourselves to cycle back from Paris to the UK London office.
The UK half is led by Matthew Marriott (UK CEO) and the French half is being led by Jean-François Landry (Group CFO). It is not a UK v France competition (although with 100m to go it may well turn out to be!) but a great chance to take on a challenge (when some members of the group agreed to do this they did not even own a bike!) and raise some money for a good cause.
For a charity – some may have seen on Viva Engage last week the amazing story of James Bradley’s dog Benji. James (the UK Infrastructure’s Director of Finance) was out walking on a Sunday when Benji, his Cavalier King Charles, got lost. The full story is on Viva Engage, but essentially a charity group, K9-SAR who are dedicated to finding and rescuing pets (with a range of drones / underground cameras etc) came to the rescue. After three terrible days they had located Benji and managed to get him out.
