SNOWFLAKES - short film

The STORY

It’s 2022. The cost of living crisis has reached its peak. The UK economy is at an all time low, with the working class taking the biggest hit, the middle class barely feel the strain. Except for three privileged graduates, Damien, Mia, and Gianna, who naïvely protected from the real world, waste away all of their money. When their parents refuse to bail them out this time, the three are faced with the new reality of not being able to pay their bills. Facing a three day eviction warning, the kids need to find money, and fast. But when their infamous plan falls apart, will the trio finally show an ounce of maturity? Or will they dig themselves down a deeper hole?

WHO ARE WE?

We’re four students on the MA Acting for Screen course at Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, and we’re in pre-production for our dark comedy short film - Snowflakes.

Hi everyone!

My name is Petra Vukelić and I am the producer of this film. 

I am an actress, VO artist, singer and a CEO of a Croatia based Theatre Company Teatar Prima Vista.In the past I have written, directed, produced and acted in many theatre plays and appeared in many TV series and some feature films. 

Curently I am an MA Acting for Screen student at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.

LAURENZ PRADER - director

Hey everybody! My name is Laurenz Prader, I'm a current student in the Acting for Screen course at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, and the director of our short film. 

I am originally from Vienna, Austria, where I also got my BA in Acting at the filmacademy. I first got in contact with acting when I was 10 and after starting on stage, went on to do commercials. 

I got my first TV credits after drama school and then moved to London to have access to more interesting and bigger projects. When it comes to filmmaking I like a direct and honest approach, touching stories that don't take themselves too seriously.

 I love spending time with my dog, he is named Bongo, Mr. B or Bearli depending on the significance of the situation. 

Thank you everybody who is willing to help us make this film possible! We will go far and beyond to tell this story in an impactful and meaningful way.

CIARA WHITING - writer

Hi! My name is Ciara Whiting and I’m currently studying on the MA Acting For Screen course. 

I am passionate about screen, both acting and writing. 

I have co-starred in multiple short films, one of which was a runner up for the London Sci Fi film festival in Stratford. I am currently being coached by the BBC Writersroom on a screenplay I have developed. I will be using these skills to take forward into the film.

ROSE DAHER - art director

Hi, I’m Rose. I’m the art director of this film. 

I am presently on the MA Acting for Screen course at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. I am Lebanese-American and moved to the UK from the Middle East in 2019 to pursue drama training. I have since found a home on and behind the screen and look forward to acting as art director on this very special project.
